Foreign Language Speaking Anxiety: A Study of English Language Learning

Speaking is the act of conveying information or expressing ideas and feelings in spoken English. Anxiety becomes a barrier to language mastery. This study analyse students' speaking anxiety research used quantitative methods. Researchers selected class B third semester consisting 40 English Language Education students taken with purpossive sampling. Research instrument are obtain data from questionnaire. Meanwhile, collected by using Google Form. The total number questions consists 18 statements Likert Scale. According results questionnaire, have about English, as evidenced percentage responses question, which indicated that had at time wanting speak while teaching learning process was progress. discovered numerous findings after analyzing data. First, researchers following cause contribute English-speaking students: fear self-prediction, irrational faith, sensitivity dangers, anxiety, attribution incorrect body signals, inadequate self-efficacy. Second, causes speech not confident afraid make mistakes when speaking, anxious teachers asked embarrassed perform front class.
